I couldn't write for a year after 9-11. I was hired to sing at Club Med in Turks and Caicos. It was like someone slapped me on the back and I started breathing again. The power of the ocean to heal our spirits.
I knew this was the melody for what I had witnessed on 9-11 when it first started playing in my head. The lyric came all at once as I was in a meeting. It was like someone was whispering it in my ear. I took out a pen and paper and write as if in dictation. The only time that has ever happened to me.
